Role Montage Exercises and Appendix A
The role montage exercises and Appendix A, from the book, are included here so you can download them individually, and work on them by yourself, with a group of friends, or with your team. Successful leaders must develop a keen sense of self-awareness. These exercises are designed to help you in developing this key factor for effective leadership on your life’s journey. They can be completed now and at other times in your life to compare the results and see if your major inspirations remain the same.
Chapter 1 Exercises
Exploration is a potent practice in role montage because it fulfills an internal longing to make meaning out of the fictional or real characters we read or hear about in addition to the people we meet along our life’s pathway. Successful leaders must develop a keen sense of self-awareness. Such self-awareness is critical to building new behaviors and new skills. The exercises that follow will help you identify the people and characters who inspire you toward reaching your potential as a leader.
Chapter 2 Exercises
The three exercises that follow will help you grow your self-understanding and assist you in identifying the people and characters that inspire you to reach your potential as a leader.
CHAPTER 3 EXERCISES
Change is always a difficult process. This is especially true when you are working on adjusting lifelong habits and beliefs. To grow self-awareness, you have to be willing to step into the unknown and be vulnerable. This is especially true when getting feedback. I always advise clients to make themselves vulnerable and report back to the people who offered feedback. As scary as it seems, it’s one of the most rewarding activities you can do. The following exercises will help you examine your motivation and commitment to make changes in your life.
CHAPTER 4 EXERCISES
This exercise will guide you step by step through the process of designing your role montage. If you completed the exercises in the previous chapters, you will already have a list prepared for creating a role montage, while others might need to develop a list using this step-by-step guide. There is no right or wrong way to create a role montage.
CHAPTER 5 EXERCISES
This exercise along with those offered in previous chapters helps you identify personal practices to enhance your role montage experience. It is important for leaders to spend time learning meditation and reflection or enhancing what’s already known. These valuable tools combined with role montage can assist in increasing self-understanding.
CHAPTER 6 EXERCISES
