A week ago I rode the Hurricane train, the last of the flag and stop trains in US. I met Shannon Cartwright, author and illustrator of children's books. An amazing woman who lives in the wilderness. She wrote her story, Finding Alaska: TheLife and Art of Shannon Cartwright. She tells the story of her grandmother, Esther Schaubel. "My grandmother was very tough, dedicated and hard-working woman." She was a Public Health Nurse. She influenced Shannon to live the life she did and encouraged her to draw pictures. Her grandmother was an inspiration and a leader. As a Public Health Nurse she influenced Shannon in a powerful way. Leaders make a difference in our lives when they are authentic and follow their values.
